Year-End Party
14 December 2002 - Salle Communale - Bellevue
The party will start from 18:30 with our chief
guests, the Sri Lankan Ambassador to the UN in
Geneva and Mrs Prasad Kariyawasam and the SLAG
Christmas Choir in attendance. Members wishing
to be part of the Choir are requested to contact
Upeka De Almeida (022) 796-0175 for further details.
Members' children wishing to participate in the
nativity play are requested to contact Shelomi
Dias (022) 788 4971 by 7 December. Members who
wish to volunteer their services for the preparation
of food and serving are kindly requested to contact

5586871). We will also be requiring assistance
for decorating the hall from 10:00 AM on Saturday.

Entrance tickets are CHF 20 for members (children
under 18 free); CHF 30 for non-members and their
children over the age of 12 will be charged CHF
10. Newcomers to the area who wish to become members
may do so at the door and obtain their tickets
at member rates. As space is limited, we advise
everyone to either come early or purchase tickets
in advance from either Chinta (078 6061948) or
Ruvan (078 852 4360) to avoid disappointment.
Dinner will be served at 8 pm.

"Noëls du
Monde" in Divonne-les-Bains, France
December 5, 2002 is Sri Lanka Day, when the
Tourist Office of Divonne les Bains (France) will
be celebrating "Noëls du Monde"
during the month of December. SLAG will be serving
traditional fare to the residents of Divonne and
the SLAG Christmas Choir will be in attendance.
Members, especially children, willing to participate
in the Choir are kindly requested to contact Upeka
De Almeida at (022) 796-0175.
As part of the month-long celebrations, SLAG
will be having a stand selling tea and spices
from 10-15 December 2002, at the Marche Artisanal
du Monde. Members are requested to participate
in the festivities and promote Sri Lanka in Divonne.

SLAG members to be issued
with Membership Cards
Association members will in future receive membership
cards confirming their membership with SLAG. This
card will enable members to obtain discounts at
select establishments that the Association has
been able to negotiate with. Stay tuned for more
discounts.
Members who will be in Sri Lanka over the holidays
and wish to avail themselves of the discounts,
are requested to contact the Treasurer, Chinta
Rajap, for obtaining the card. Membership cards
for 2003 will be sent out upon receipt of membership
renewals.

SLAG members can now
obtain the EBICard in Sri Lanka
SLAG has signed a MOU with the European Business
Information Centre (EBIC) permitting Association
members to obtain the EBICard at special rates
(SLRs 4000 annually -64 CHF with a Sri Lankan
address and 158 CHF (approx) with a foreign address).
The EBICard provides the holder privileged discounts
at many establishments in Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

This card, in operation since 1999, has proven
to be very popular with the business community
and more establishments have signed up with EBICard,
thus increasing member benefits. When applying,
please state your SLAG membership. The EBICard
can be obtained from their offices at Trans Asia
Hotel and will be ready 2-3 business days upon
receipt of payment.
